Eltron P500 Card Printer Installed by Viisage for Ohio Driver License Project. |

CAMARILLO, Calif., October 5, 2000 — Zebra Technologies Corporation (Nasdaq: ZBRA), the worldwide leader in bar code and plastic card printing solutions, announced today that Viisage Technology Inc. (Nasdaq: VISG) installed Zebra's Eltron P500 card printers for use in the production of digital driver's licenses and identification cards (ID) for the State of Ohio.
The Eltron P500 is a dual-sided color plastic card printer with built-in laminator used to produce high quality, tamper resistant, and highly durable cards for a variety of government identification and other applications around the world.
The State of Ohio driver's license project incorporates over 200 Eltron P500 printers and related consumables. In this program, the printer produces personalized digital driver's licenses and state identification cards. The application includes dual-sided printing; bar code printing, magnetic stripe encoding and the application of a protective overlaminate at the point of issuance. Additionally, a variety of security features are implemented for detection of fraudulent acts.
