| New Prices for P Series P400 and P500 Plastic Card Printers Unmatched in the Industry |
SIMI VALLEY, Calif., August 20, 1998 — Leading designer and manufacturer of thermal label and plastic card printers, Eltron International, today announced its attendance at ISC EAST, New York, NY, booth 1140, September 1-3. Eltron will demonstrate its complete line of Privilege Series photo and secure ID card printers. Primary applications for Eltron's high-image-quality, reliable card printers include personal ID, security, access control, e-purse, membership and loyalty cards, on-demand smart card personalization and magnetic stripe encoding.
Eltron will showcase two industry price leaders at the show: The P Series P400 dual sided full color printer, recently reduced from $4,995 to $3,995, is positioned $1,500 below that of its nearest competitor, and the P500, reduced from $6,995 to $6,495, offers dual-sided overlaminate protection to extend card life in high usage environments. The new price lowers the cost of printing and laminating cards to $1,000 below that of the P500's nearest competitor.
"Eltron's P Series card printers provide a wide range of economical configurations designed to meet the needs of diverse security and access control applications," said Patrice Foliard, senior vice president of sales and marketing at Eltron. "From high quality photo imaging to smart card and mag stripe encoding options, the P Series provides the flexibility and reliability required in the growth segment of the security industry."
Also at the show will be Eltron's P300 printers, the cost effective, dependable card printers with a small footprint and easy-loading, low maintenance design for simple and efficient desk-top operation. In addition, Eltron's Max3000, an unprecedented card printing system which provides maximum security, tamper resistance and long term durability will be shown. The Max3000 produces the 3M Secure Card developed by 3M. The new printer integrates a print station, laminator, die cutter and optional encoder/sorter all in one system. Using dual print processes, the Max3000 prints one card while a second card is being laminated and die cut at the second station. Printing can be monochrome or full color with images, text, and both 1D and 2D bar codes, including PDF 417 from Symbol Technologies.
Eltron's P600 will be shown with its new Windows™ driver, a no-charge feature with all P600 shipments, the driver manages parallel printing operations on the dual station P600 from any Windows based application software program. This unique capability allows users to take full advantage of the printer's high volume batch printing or hologram overlay operations. Traditionally, multi-print station card printers have been managed by complex, proprietary software interfaces. |
