Eltron's Varades, France Facility Earns Iso 9002 Certification |

SIMI VALLEY, Calif., August 10, 1998 — Eltron International, Inc. (Nasdaq NM: ELTN), leading global designer and manufacturer of thermal label and plastic card printers, today announced that its card printer manufacturing facility in Varades, France has successfully passed the audit for certification to the internationally recognized ISO 9000 quality system.
ISO 9000 is a program of standards for quality assurance, quality management and continuous improvement which originated in the European Community and has been adopted by more than 100 other nations around the world. Eltron's main facility in Simi Valley earned ISO 9002 certification in November 1995 and its other operations in the United States and the United Kingdom have also achieved ISO 9002 certification.

"We are deeply committed to quality and customer satisfaction at Eltron and ISO certification demonstrates to our customers that we are utilizing systems, processes and controls to ensure that we will meet or exceed their expectations."
On July 9th Eltron announced that it has signed a definitive agreement with Zebra Technologies for Zebra to acquire 100% of the outstanding shares of Eltron International. The transaction is subject to shareholder approval, customary closing conditions, and certain regulatory approvals. The contemplated transaction is anticipated to close in October or November and will be structured as a tax free pooling of interests in which each of Eltron's common shares will be exchanged for .90 shares of Zebra Class B common stock.
